Denise has been a Registered Nurse for more than 30 years. She spent 28 years serving in Long Term Care. She began her career in Long Term Care as a Nursing Assistant and moved on to work as an RN on a Medicare unit. She has served as an Assistant Director of Nursing for a Skilled Nursing Facility and then moved on to become a Director of Nursing.
Denise has been a member of NADONA and NCDONA for 27 years. Through her NADONA membership, Denise has obtained her CDONA-Certified Director of Nursing Administration, CDP -Certified Dementia and IP-BC- Infection Prevention Board Certified. She has served NCDONA in many capacities including Conference Planning Committee, NCDONA District III Director, and NCDONA Corresponding Secretary.
Through the years Denise has worked as a consultant for several nursing home defense attorneys in North Carolina. She served as a member of the Advisory Board Committee for Randolph Community Collage Associate Degree Nursing program as well as, their Nurse Assistant I program.
Denise currently serves as Director of Homecare Service for Carolina SeniorCare of Lexington NC. Carolina SeniorCare PACE is an all-inclusive program for the elderly that provides home care services, physician services, and assists with nursing home placement. Denise also serves as an instructor for the North Carolina Nurse Assistant I Training program at Carolina SeniorCare.
