Lydia is the Director of Clinical Services and Reimbursement for the senior division at Lutheran Services Carolinas and has 35 plus years of professional health industry experience. Her roles in long-term care include director of nursing services, quality improvement coordinator, infection control, MDS assessment nurse, staff development, and clinical reimbursement specialist. Lydia conducts workshops on a variety of topics including MDS coding, medical review, and survey readiness. She has developed and instructed Mentor Training Programs, and clinical operations to meet regulatory compliance for Lutheran Services in North and South Carolina. Foy has worked closely with Chapel Hill and Duke University to improve transitional care of older adults as they transfer between settings. Lydia has served on a number of committees such as the North Carolina Health Facility Association’s Standards and Ethics Committee, NC Future of Nursing Task Force, and NC Director of Nursing Advisory Board. Furthermore, she is an active member of the North Carolina Directors of Nursing Association and is currently the regional director of District II. Foy is a graduate of Rowan Cabarrus Community College, where she received her A.D. in Nursing. In addition, she worked as an instructor for the nursing assistant program at Rowan Cabarrus Community College and is an instructor for the Medication Aide Certification class.
